It’s now been proved that video identification parades provide a much more effective alternative to live identity parades. A live identity parade can take up to ten weeks from arrest to parade and according to experts an average person’s memory is only sharp for 10 days. Since PACE Code D, which covers identification procedures, was changed on 1 April 2002 to allow routine use of video-id parades, the whole process can take place while the suspect is still in custody and before bail decisions are made.
"We had list of demanding requirements, some were specific components and other areas were left open for product recommendation" explains Wayne. "We also asked for equipment to be sent to us for extensive testing as reliability was critical. We then compared the level of service offered by each company, the technical solutions suggested, the quality of the test equipment and the price. Having tested the equipment in parallel, we came to the decision that Compusys was clearly the most competent company; responding very quickly, appropriately and effectively with the right information and at the expected price. Their expertise was compelling. |
