Since the 1st January 2005, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 has allowed citizens access to the enormous amount of information normally kept away from the public eye. The Act will ensure more openness within public sector organisations and hopefully ensure that the public feel more involved in the activities of public sector organisations.
Compusys Consulting understand that no two organisations are the same. Processes, procedures, document filing systems, email systems archiving and storage solutions all differ from one organisation to the next, making an of the shelf solution to ensure compliance with the act very difficult if not impossible.
Collectively, our Public Sector Consultants have approved a number number of systems to enable organisations to create a bespoke solution which fits their needs by adopting best practice for information storage, indexing and retrieval. Some organisation will wish to implement new document management systems, whilst others will already have them or even decide to stay with their shared network folder approach (or even a combination of both)
Compusys are currently implementing solutions within a number of organisations which are specifically tailored to their information creation needs, storage needs, indexing & categorisation and search / retrieval requirements. The Diagram below shows a typical solution which can be integrated with many content sources such as Document Management Systems, Content Management Systems, Email Systems (Exchange etc.), CRM Solutions, Databases, Shared Network Folders as well as information stored within Storage Area Networks (SANs) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
